This consultation is for patients with: • Hip arthritis • Avascular necrosis • Hip deformity • Post-traumatic hip damage • Severe functional limitation The evaluation includes: • Clinical hip examination • Gait assessment • Limb length evaluation • Imaging review • Surgical indication assessment Discussion includes: • Total hip replacement procedure • Implant concepts • Bearing surface selection • Recovery expectations • Risks and precautions Not all hip pain requires replacement. Early-stage disease may be managed conservatively. Surgery is recommended when pain significantly limits mobility and daily function. Patients should bring pelvis and hip X-rays and prior treatment history. The objective is to determine appropriate timing and realistic expectations for surgery.
